2014 Fall Racquetball Part 1

Information

The Everett YMCA is host to a year-round racquetball league that plays on Friday nights between 6 and 9pm. There are several seasons per year. Ideally everyone gets to play one match per week. The season’s schedule is going to be shorter than they have been in the past, so be sure you can make all of the weeks before signing up.

The basic idea is to provide a competitive, fun environment for people to play racquetball in, improve their skills, and meet other racquetball players in the area.

When: Starts Friday, September 12th. Weekly on Friday Nights until October 24th.

Who: Adults and teens over 14 years old.

How: Simply email Brian Gillespie at infamousbeegee@gmail.com or call 425-418-0319. You can also register for this event on the Y’s Online Registration Page (Registration Closes September 9th). If you register on the Y’s page, please forward the confirmation email and let me know what division you’d like to play.

Cost: Free to YMCA members, $23 for Non-Members ($25 Annual Community Membership Required)

Divisions Offered: Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced, Expert, and Doubles. If players want to play a second division, they can sign up for Doubles.

Beginners are players who are just learning the rules of the game, and don’t have consistent forehand and backhand mechanics yet.

Intermediate players are famiar with all of the basic rules of the game, but their backhand mechanics and game strategies are still being developed.

Advanced players have solid forehand and backhand mechanics, and are working on mastering their game strategies.

Expert players have got it all down.

Doubles division is a simple matter of finding a partner to play with and playing. There is no division by skill.
